Fall Festivities

I L.O.V.E. this time of year!  Trees turning beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red.  The weather starting to simmer down.  And everyone getting excited and in spirit for the holiday season approaching.  I have been super busy getting ready for the wedding... 18 days away!  But John and I have been able to find some time for good 'ol Halloween fun.

Even made some yummy treats.
I signed up to bring treats to church on Halloween and decided to do a little experiment and make something I've never made before.  My all time favorite trio of flavors is banana, chocolate and peanut butter.  So I went with a babana chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting.  delicious!  I love making cupcakes but they're not my favorite treat to eat.  With that, I ate 3.  Don't judge.

We even decided to dress up to attend our last ever "singles" dance.
Married with Chldren??? Well not quite yet.

Our costume seemed to be a hit and we had a blast!  I can't wait for more fun memories to come our way.   -Katie

Decorating Ideas?

John and I have a desire to flip houses.  He's a general contractor and I'd love to help in the designing/decorating process.  (and I guess helping with a little manual labor woldn't hurt either)  I've been keeping an eye out for houses and we've looked at several.  Yesteray I recieved a call from our realtor and she informed me that our offer on a bank owned house we wanted was accepted!  We're both really excited about the work to come in the next few months.  Even though I wasn't supposed to be looking for ideas for my own house I couln't help but notice and fall in love with a few photos.
Fairy Tales do come true?  Oh I hope so.

I had my dad build me this back when I was in highschool and I've been using it ever since but now I'm thinking it might be time for a little upgrade.
More ideas to come I'm sure.

Finally Something to Blog About

It's a beautiful Sunday morning and this is the first time in the past couple weeks that I've had more than just 5 minutes to sit and relax by myself.  Yesterday was my greatgrandmother's (Granny's) 94th birthday.  She is such an amazing woman and I can't help but think about my family and how blessed I am.  And now... it won't be too long until I start my own family.  John and I are engaged and we couldn't be more excited!!!  I was able to go to Utah with John to meet his family, which was the final step before the proposal.  It went great.  I love them!... and as far as I can tell, they love me.  :)  So next was back home to California and a proposal.  John popped the question on my front porch, where we had our first hug and our first kiss.  He explained to me how this spot was a special place for him and after getting down on one knee and pulling out the ring he ask me if I'd be his best friend forever.... and I said YES!  Things have been crazy busy ever since but I wouldn't change a thing.  My awesomely talented brother-in-law Steve took some engagement pictures for us yesterday and I love how they came out.  Here's a little preview.
