Yellow and Antiqued

The latest thing I have been working on is refinishing a dresser for the "nursery".  We had an old one that John's Mom left when they moved so we decided to make it useable in our staging the house.

BEFORE:
Like the raggety fabric pulls?

AFTER:

This project has actually been 90% done for months, the spacing between the holes didn't fit any standard pulls.  Annoying! (I guess why they had the fabric before).  Hence why I picked these particular pulls, the only ones that would cover up the fact that I had to elongate some of the existing holes.  Problem solved.

Embarrassing for me, Entertaining for all

This Thanksgiving John came up with the idea to do a Llewellyn Family Film Festival.  We got to thinking of ideas for the Pinson entry, trying to come up with something clever.  Once coming upon a winner we got to work.  We planned on sharing it with the other side of the family... but it turns out the file is too big to email.  So here it is.
So what are we thankful for this year?  I'm sure you can guess.  Happy Thanksgiving!

My most difficult baked good yet

Just like many Saturdays my family and I went to In-n-Out for lunch.  But this was no typical Saturday.  Today for the first time in about eight years I didn't order my usual "ketchup instead of spread".
Can you say YUMMY?

And two days ago this happened!

Yes those are two devoured Chipotle burritos.  Mine is on the left, I beat John by a couple of bites.  yeah baby! Usually we get bowls instead of burritos but I was feeling a little adventurous (a nice way of saying starving).  And usually I eat half of mine and John eats his plus my other half.  I can remember in the early days of Chipotle Heidi and I would get a burrito and have to share it.  I'm telling you, they're huge!  Well I guess you can say things have been changing around here.

Oh the joys of needing extra calories.
(and finally not being too sick to consume them)
Yes, this is my official "it finally worked!" announcement.
Our bundle of joy is expected to join us April 11th 2012.
And we couldn't be happier.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Friday was my birthday.
John and I both had to work half days, we're always so busy, but John wanted to do something special.
So he came home, handed me a paper and I soon realized he set up a treasure hunt for me.
Some of my favorite candies.
A second pizza stone. A necessity.
A few giftcards.
These are DELISH. Try them.
Thanks for a lovely birthday Babe!

JohnandKate+8....+1

This year our stake did a pioneer trek for youth conference.  John and I were asked to be a Ma and Pa for some of the youth in our ward and we excitedly accepted.  After weeks of preparing the time finally came.  We took off Thursday for Riley's Farm and that's where we truely became John and Kate plus eight.

JOSH (Jim Halpert)

JAKE

SCOTTY

ALYSSA, EMMA, RENAE

CAROL

and DANIKA

The children of P. DIDDY and P. MIMMY
And later that day we welcomed PEE WEE DIDDY into the PINSON FAMILY

yes I let the kids name their new baby sister

Jake was showing off his skills to entertain us all.
And therefore Pa Pinson had to join in the fun.
The whole weekend was a lot of fun.  With the last day being AMAZING.  I couldn't believe how well everyone worked together.  N1 really is a family, one that I'm proud to be a part of.

We had to pick an ancestor pioneer to walk in behalf of.  It was so much fun learning about my ancestors and all that they did and sacrificed so that I can have the gospel of Jesus Christ today.
Eternally grateful.

Seating for two

John bought two chairs at his Grandmother's garage sale when she packed up to move to Utah last year and gave me the job of re-covering them.  I finished them a while back but just haven't gotten around to taking any after pictures, until now.  I've come to realize I do well without patterns.  I'd rather just figure it out as I go, making my own pattern in my head.  I think it's just the way my brain works.  So with that said, here they are.
BEFORE:

AFTER:

My mother has been trying to steal them,
"they look so good in my house."

The two original chairs were his and hers, the one not pictured being pink.

Today is a special day

Exactly one year ago today I met the love of my eternity.
He's the reason for my smile.

My first before and after

I've been re-covering/re-finishing furniture lately so Wes had to take advantage of my new skill set I've been building.
Asked me to recover his oddly shaped mortorcycle seat.
It actually came out pretty good!
