The Holidays

Evie was a lady bug for Halloween.
I don't think she quite knew what was going on, but was so adorable just the same.
I like this one... it looks like after 2 years of marriage he's still in love with me.

And now as Christmas is approaching Evie had to meet Santa.
Success.

The big 25!

My birthday landed on a Sunday this year.
So instead of going out we did something we've
been wanting to do for a while now.
Homemade fries.
Both regular and sweet potato.
First step: slice.
Second step: cold water bath
Third: double fry

And last: salt to taste
They were so delish!

p.s. Roy kept asking John all night, "Is that red Spiderman on your shirt?" To which John had to reply, "yes, yes it is"
I think it's about time we buy John some new shirts.

Evelyn's Blessing Day

Evelyn was blessed on July 8th, 2012
It was an amazing day.
One of those that makes you realize how truly lucky you are.

I think it's about time for a baby post

Blogging has become much more difficult these days.  We do not have internet and have always just used my parents for all my internetting needs. But now with a "little one" around I can't just up and leave home whenever I feel like it.  Yes... I am officially a mommy, and have been for almost seven weeks now.  It's the best thing in the world.
Who wouldn't want to spend every waking moment with this?
For those wanting the birth story here it goes, I'll try not to make it too detailed.
I woke up at 3:09 AM Wednesday morning April 11th 2012 with my first real contraction.  I had Braxton Hicks contractions for the last couple months but everyone kept telling me, "you'll know when it's the real thing."  Um... yeah, much more intense and painful was the give away.  So I started timing them, woke John up a little later and headed to the hospital around 7.  Once I got there they hooked me up to the monitors and told me that I was 3cms so the waiting game began.  Looking at the computer screen you could see the contractions of all the women in labor.  We sat there forever, wondering why mine were so much bigger than everyone elses.  My nurse even came in at one point and said, "all the other nurses are asking if I gave you Pitocin because of your mountain contractions."  They were literally off the chart.  Not only that, but they were longer and closer together.  It was hard feeling like I wasn't getting breaks in between.  But I just kept telling myself that this will probably cause me to have a short labor.  SO NOT TRUE.  They had asked me if my water broke and I told them, "I don't think so."  I was assuming that was something they could check but apparently not.  They assumed it had broken already so I just layed there waiting for the arrival.   But after not progressing for what seemed like forever the doctor checked me, noticed my water hadn't broken, broke it for me and that's when it all changed.  We were ready to push... and we did, until they realized that Baby Pinson was no longer facing the wrong way.  The doctor tried a few times to correct that problem, not the funnest thing to go through when you're on no pain medication (I won't publicly post the gory details) but he was not successful.  We tried laying on my side.  Didn't work.  Doctor tried again.  Didn't work.  Laid on my other side.  Success!!!  The nurse had me try pushing again and then told me to stop cause I was gonna have the baby before the doctor got back if I kept on going.  (you could tell she was nervous that she'd have to deliver the baby)  The doctor hurried back and Evelyn Mae was born at 9:32 PM.
She was perfect.

The countdown begins

12 days until my due date, but Doc. says I won't last that long.
Good thing because I have a full on "outie."
Theres just no more room in there.
I'm trying to let her know that we love her and want to see her.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Fingers crossed.

only took me 8 months to take my last picture to turn this draft into a post

I bought two bedside tables, a coffee table and a loveseat as a package deal off a friend, knowing that soon I will have to stage our house.  They all were in poor condition or just plain ugly (the loveseat) but I'd rather save money and fix them up myself.  So here I had 1, 2... 3 more things to add to my to do list.  As usual I remembered to take a before picture half way through sanding my projects down.  But you can imagine.

AFTER:
The coffee table I turned into a play/drawing table for a kids room. (currently being showcased in the nursery)

And the loveseat at the moment has a temporary cover until I can get around to it.
